Powerscourt Distillery Project
JV Tierney & Co are excited to be part of a history-making project on the Powerscourt Estate in County Wicklow; Powerscourt Distillery.
Formerly the hub of all farming activity on the Estate, the Old Mill House is being restored and extended to accommodate the distillery’s development. This Development will be situated in the world famous Powerscourt Gardens and include both a visitor centre, and distillery which will house three custom-designed copper pot stills. Barley grown in the surrounding fields will be combined with mineral water from the Powerscourt East well, using traditional pot-still techniques. We are delighted to be working with Powerscourt Distillery and Powerscourt Estate. There is great collaboration between the Stakeholders and Design/Construction teams.
Our Engineering team are enthusiastically carrying out the Mechanical and Electrical Engineering services on this project, which will reach completion and commence distilling Whiskey in the summer of 2018. Progress is going well on site, as the images above show the process equipment in place.
