Michael Downey

Associate Director

Michael is a Chartered Engineer and Associate Director. He is a Lead Project Engineer with 13 years’ experience in Mechanical & Electrical Building Services Design.

Michael is our BIM Manager, overseeing our 3D Modelling Team using the latest Revit Design Technology and designing the BIM strategy for any given project as defined in our BIM Execution Plan reflecting the requirements of the Client. He has acted as BIM Manager on projects such as 1 Sir John Rogerson’s Quay, Schools Bundle 4 for the NDFA, Uninest Mill Street Student Accommodation Dublin 8, The Clinical Education & Research Centre at the University of Limerick and Phase 1 of the New Student Accommodation at NUI Galway. Michael has also been Project Lead on many Residential Apartment, Shared Living, Co-Living and Student Accommodation Projects for Commercial Clients such as Bartra, Marlet, Hines and IRES.

Michael is up to date with the latest Irish Design Standards and would carry out Building Control Amendment Regulation (BCAR) Inspections to ensure standards and requirements are met. In particular Michael is well versed in energy efficient design and coordinating teams on decarbonisation and climate mitigation projects.

Michael also has practical experience in working with projects teams and is proficient in dealing with clients and contracting authorities. Those projects include NUI Galway Arts Millennium Building Extension, TUD Central & East Quads Grangegorman, Trinity College Dublin-Oisín House Student Accommodation and the National Indoor Sports Arena Abbotstown.
